Netflix is one the most well-known and commonly used platforms which involves quite rich content with hundreds of movies/series in different languages. Language learners can benefit from this kind of platforms to improve their language skills. In addition it can be enhanced with a google chrome extension called “Language Learning with Netflix” which makes language learning with films and series more effective and fun. It lets you watch with two subtitles at the same time and check the definition of the words when you click on them. Moreover, it provides an option to highlight important and common words according to your target vocabulary size selection. ‘Automatic Pause” is also available after each line or adjusted time. One of the downsides is that it only works with Google. Developers of this extension claim to put more features in near future. Hopefully, it will help us to raise language awareness while watching.
